We have an immediate opportunity in the Chennai office, India for a part-time fully remote Staff Accountant for the IT consulting division to manage a full range of Accounting activities. We offer a comprehensive range of solutions and services, including IT Consulting services, software development solutions.

Responsibilities

Staff Accountant responsibilities include processing employee data, updating company policies and assisting in the hiring process. To be successful in this role, you should have solid organizational skills and be familiar with HR functions and bookkeeping for US IT Consulting companies. Ultimately, you will make sure all Accounting Operations run smoothly.

Key Accountabilities:

· Bank reconciliations

· Journal entries

· Invoicing

· Accounts Receivable

· Accounts Payable

· Budgeting/forecasting

· Reporting

· Prepare Monthly and annual closings

· Conduct various accounting audits

· Perform tax liabilities and payments to various states

· Employee Cost Benefit management

· Works with HR in processing payroll and validates all payroll ledgers

· Cost control on all expenses

· Works with external CPA’s in closing books annually

· Review external vendor contracts under favorable terms and conditions

· Work and manage team members for HR and accounting functions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 5+ years of proven success in US accounting with progressive responsibility.

• Preferences for a successful track record serving IT consulting services or Service selling experience.

• You must possess superior communication & written skills and an ability to execute on multiple priorities with attention to details.

• End to End experience in general ledger accounting (journal entries, A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations)

• Familiarity with US Tax laws

• Highly proficient with QuickBooks and MS Excel

• Excellent written and verbal skills

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and proven track record

• Experience in collections (Accounts Receivable)

• General knowledge of standard financial reports, cash flow, grant obligations, depreciation, capital expenses.

• Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze variances, developing and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

• Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to use resources effectively and efficiently.

• Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into the process steps.

• Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering information skillfully, and working well with others to solve problems.

• Identify opportunities for margin improvements cost control and business growth

• Work with IT Project and Resource managers in project bidding in costing

Location : India

Work hours : 8 pm to 1 am IST (4 to 5 hours per day) and occasional extra hours if the job demands

Part-time hours: 25 per week

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: ₹300,000.00 – ₹500,000.00 per year
