About the Role

Enterprise Financial Reporting (Regulatory Reporting) is a functional area within the Corporate Controller’s division responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and complete external regulatory reporting.

The WFIP Offshore resources support the Financial Reporting Team by performing data collection, aggregation, consolidation, reconciliation, first-level analysis, pre-production activities, initial report preparation, and variance analysis and associated report preparation activities. They also perform operational processes such as data compilation, reconciliation, and schedule preparation.

Wells Fargo’s Regulatory and Basel Reporting team (RBR) WFIP Team is responsible for supporting the filing of regulatory reports with regulatory agencies and has many ongoing projects related to the enterprise-wide implementation of centralized data management infrastructure and the COSO-based governance and oversight framework.

RBR is looking for a regulatory and financial reporting analyst to join the team to prepare, analyze and perform critical responsibilities for the Regulatory and Basel Reporting (RBR) Governance and Oversight (G&O) team. This role will be responsible for supporting various on-going activities within the RBR G&O team including but not limited to legal entity reporting, training administration, system access monitoring, Financial Reporting Change Management Program (FRCMP), and record retention. The candidate will be expected to have a working knowledge of Wells Fargo’s Governance and Oversight Framework and the COSO framework, as well as familiarity with the regulatory reporting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration of the RBR’s FRCMP process, including aggregating change management responses from SharePoint users regarding specific changes that are required to be tracked and uploading the FRCMP Watchlist to the SharePoint site regularly.
  • Assist with the administration of the regulatory reporting assumptions monitoring process, including initiating various workflows in SharePoint, monitoring workflow results, and following up with SharePoint users when needed.
  • Assist with the administration of RBR’s training activities, including reviewing & responding to training questions and adjustments and updating the training roster spreadsheet from various sources
  • Perform periodic review and control procedures related to access on the RBR shared drives.
  • Assist with RBR’s record retention activities including monitoring BAU records to ensure they are compliant with the Enterprise Classification/Retention Schedule and transferring BAU records to the corporate RIMA-COSI when needed
  • Reportable Legal Entities file update – Collect legal entity changes from the RBR team, update the tracking file accordingly, and upload the updated file to Controller’s teamwork site.
  • Prepare internal analyses for various RBR G&O activites, such as FRCMP teamwork website traffic statistics, Change Event Tracker user usage statistics, and training metrics to show the status of completions.
  • Assist with updating Issue & Error (I&E) thresholds tracking spreadsheet based on updated quarterly results.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated history of being an independent self-starter, ability to effectively communicate and capable of working efficiently to meet tight deadlines
  • The Analyst will support compliance with requirements under the Company’s Regulatory Reporting Governance & Oversight Framework
  • Provide support and input to impact of reporting deficiencies and related issue remediation
  • Ability to actively participate in work flow and task execution within a team environment
  • Experience in US Regulatory Reporting highly desired
  • Public Accounting Certification preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels
  • Solid analytical skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

Desired Qualifications

  • Financial Services accounting experience would be a plus
  • Project management experience and/or certification would be a plus
  • Advanced Degree in Accounting
