Under the direction of the Regional Finance Director (RFD), this position plays an integral role in the Finance leadership team within the NAM Region of Weir Minerals. The role will provide Cost Accounting leadership for a team of site-based cost accounting professionals. The Cost Accounting function works with operations finance as well as the general accounting team to drive costing oversight, compliance and supports the analytics for manufacturing finance. This position will contribute to the development and execution of the budget, forecasts, standards cost roll and play an integral part in aligning operation team goals with Region leadership expectations.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (Accounting/Finance) required. MBA and/or Masters of Accountancy preferred. Minimum of 7 years finance and/or accounting/audit experience required. Minimum of 3-5 years of Public Accounting Experience preferred. Current CPA/CMA license highly preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, employees and/or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
Mathematical:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of Cognos or similar system is desirable. Ability and desire to learn accounting systems. Requires the ability to operate a job related software Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, PowerBI, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPA/CMA certification strongly preferred.

Excellent knowledge of standard cost accounting, general ledger management, and internal controls in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of Lean principles.
