The Senior Marketing Manager – India is responsible for defined demand marketing plans in field; organises and executes programs that create relevant two-way interactions with buyers to inform/influence their buying decisions and relationship with the VMware. The role partners with central demand marketing functions (e.g. demand and campaign teams within APJ, marketing operations) to create defined demand marketing plans that deliver maximum impact through a combination of tailored/localised global and new market-specific activities.
This role will:
Engage proactively with central marketing teams to review plans, share local requirements, and provide feedback on global/regional programs and assets
Customize centrally created programs for local deployment
Support and contribute to the development of the annual plan and quarterly program plans to deliver pipeline and revenue goals for paired direct and indirect sales teams
Manage local marketing budget
Assess local marketing readiness and identify optimization opportunities
Evaluate, select and manage vendors that contribute to local demand marketing programs, including event venues and services, digital marketing agencies, advertising and content publishers, designers, copywriters, translators and data providers (subject to sourcing approval)
Capture and analyze local buyer insights
Analyze local pipeline volume, performance and forecasts, including specific views for segments and sales reps
Identify local lead routing and scoring requirements and changes
The individual will work closely with a large array of internal stakeholders, operating at a strategic level with Sales leaders, Solution / Product teams, as well as country leaders and marketing teams, and through regular interactions with VMware Executives in India.
This position also requires someone who:
Has experience of leading with both a customer centric and an integrated marketing approach. Understands the agendas of CIOs, key decision makers and practitioners, including segment-aligned plans and programs. Is capable of driving the creation & execution of programs, as well as accurately measure impacts using best-in-class tools.
Responsibilities include:
Ownership and accountability for the planning & execution of marketing programs to drive the pipeline & other defined goals / KPls for the Indian market
Understand customer requirements and market opportunities to shape compelling programs
Leverage key Partnerships at the strategic level, and executional level to extend program impact
Evangelize the field demand generation programs across different functions, leveraging best practices where applicable and driving innovation for a best-in-class program that drives demonstrable commercial impact
Drive regular program reporting & QBRs. Analyze and leverage the feedback and the performance from each program to adapt and adjust future programs to ensure customer expectations are met and the program continues to evolve, delivering maximum customer impact and business value
Manage budget & align available resources to achieve goals
Support overall marketing team goals and programs
Assist sales teams when needed
Skills & Requirements:
Integrated marketing, planning and management experience in a fast-paced high-tech environment
Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in high-energy, fast paced, cross-functional teams, and be able to confidently communicate and work collaboratively with peers and executives
Ability to build & execute a marketing strategy with clear goals & objectives that aligns to the company’s business and supports growth targets.
Ability to source and assess data from multiple inputs. to deliver true insight highly competitive and dynamic environment
A strategic thinker, result oriented, with strong project management and execution skills
Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with a broad range of colleagues and executives across different regions to successfully making the result
Enthusiasm, tenacity and clarity of thoughts and deeds in the face of occasionally challenging and ambiguous situations.
Very good written and spoken English
