Standard Chartered Looking for Middle Office, Head, India at Mumbai, Maharashtra Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

• First point of contact locally for FM Sales/ Trading Desk/ FM Ops.
• Trade capture and life cycling of structured products.
• Understand trade lifecycle from front to back and be the subject matter expert and go-to person for the core systems processing.
• Understanding and learn to manage query remediation, trade life-cycling and other day-to-day processing, ensuring timely escalation, in order to minimise risk
• New business enablement and solutions, partner to deliver strategic FM initiatives.
• Adhering to regulatory policies.
• Participate in evaluating system enhancements, UATs and projects.
• Provide support to the various Middle Office sites.
• Work closely with the Front Office and relevant downstream depts in supporting any new products or businesses.
• Escalation of all exceptions, risks and KCS / Phoenix breaks.
• Ensure audit issues are being addressed and solutions provided.
• Providing support for Central Counterparty (CCP) related projects.
• New business enablement and solutions, partner to deliver strategic FM initiatives:
  • Drive Operational readiness
• Local management of:
  • Hubs: Drive global alignment and consistency, Follow The Sun support
  • Local Market: standardize where applicable, tailored processes/controls
• Challenge vendor costs / services across the lifecycle
• Operations representation for external/internal and regulator scheduled audits:
  • Ensure Audit points are addressed within timelines
• Drive continuous improvement and innovate:
  • Partner with Technology to deliver transformation
  • Work with FO to identify booking model improvements and drive efficiency
• Be up to date and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Adherence to Ops Risk Framework standards of implementation and process management.

• Financial Markets Middle Office delivers first class trade support, business enablement and accurate/timely representation in order to meet obligations to clients, counterparties and regulators. We are product and process subject matter experts aligned to the Global Financial Markets business providing follow the sun support with continuous improvement mindset and industry connectivity.

• Product specialists who understand business priorities and strategy, define optimal solutions leveraging industry leading facilities and influence behaviour through countenance.

Processes

• Ensure that the Derivative/FX transactions are correctly booked into the Transaction Processing system by verifying against source documents.
• Ensure that approved product programs and country addendums are in place for new deals traded whenever possible.
• Understand trade lifecycle from front to back and be the subject matter expert and go-to person for the core systems processing
• Adhering to regulatory policies.
• Work closely with the Front Office and relevant downstream depts in supporting any new products or businesses.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Chartered Accountant, MBA, Graduate or equivalent.
• Product knowledge of Financial Market and Derivative products.
