Financial Services firms are becoming ever more defined by their technology and ability to use it to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Standard Chartered Information Technology & Operations (ITO) is looking for individuals interested in using innovative new products and modern technologies to deliver world class digital experiences for our clients and customers.

The Retail, Private Banking and Wealth Management ITO is accelerating transformation of agile banking services with DevOps and Agile practices, with an aim towards efficiency, automation, and improved transparency Delivery Sprint Teams will be at the core of delivering this agenda.

Delivery Sprint Teams will build and integrate components of the DevOps pipeline to deliver new banking capabilities, as well as refactoring of existing applications. Sprint teams will all be experienced programmers, operations people and product owners who can develop and drive their capability development end-to-end. Breadth across both programming and system operations is required of all candidates and depth must be demonstrated in their specialization; this is a cross-functional team with cross over between development and operations with business.

Job Description

We require a Lead QA who is well versed with testing methodologies and approaches.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Testing / validation of software releases must maximise the benefits for Agile practices and CI/CD automation.

Testing must be an automated and repeatable process. Automation coverage is planned and implemented as an integral part of production code implementation.

Quality Assurance through testing is a primary responsibility of agile teams, and, not a separate activity executed by separate people.

Code quality is a software Engineering responsibility that enables faster time to market.

Feature testing by technology has limited benefit, and, the organisation is best served by having as much qualified resource engagement in validating the feature as possible e.g. Product Owners should be at the forefront of defining acceptance criteria and ensuring software meets expectations.

Post factor testing (Big Test at the End) is suboptimal, rather, code should be validated as it is being written, and, throughout iterative releases.

Work to an operating model that will support and encourage a Shift Left of testing practices for earlier release of working software.

Defects created as part of new development are fixed before considering that work item as done.

The measurement of testing efficacy will balance the time spent on testing with the rate of defects leaking through each iteration.

Operating model structure should be aligned and consolidated to remove duplication as well as confusion over roles and responsibilities

Our Ideal Candidate

University Degree in Computer Sciences or a related discipline.

10+ Years of relevant work experience.
