About the Team:

Quora is a remote-first company with international revenue and a worldwide user base. Our Finance Department, consisting of Accounting, FP&A, and Tax, is looking for an experienced Accountant Receivables to support further international growth. As a member of the finance team, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction and growth of a best-in-class department and company. This is a fixed-term contract position that is intended to provide coverage for a team member during their maternity leave.

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional who has extensive accounts receivable and collections experience within a fast-growing company, as well as drive, enthusiasm, and compulsive attention to detail. This person will be responsible for managing the customer billing & collections of Quora India.

Responsibilities:

• Drive timely and accurate billing to clients by coordinating and partnering with the Quora sales team
• Verify that all ad revenue invoices are supported by EIOs/ROs and that all client information is recorded correctly in the invoices
• Ensure that deferred and unbilled revenue is recorded accurately when it applies. Additionally, ensure that billing to the parent company for support services is done in a timely and precise manner
• Monitor collections and record collection entries every two weeks, process payments, and maintain an up-to-date report on outstanding debts
• Manage collection follow-up as per company’s collection policy and attend to client queries/revising invoices
• Review and analyze data for GSTR1 filing, and collaborate with the tax consultant to address any tax-related queries related to customer invoicing. Coordinate with customers for the reconciliation of 26 AS with financial records
• Review and maintain account reconciliations and drive process improvement and efficiency in all accounting and close functions
• Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting and ensure smooth audit coordination for relevant areas handled

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during some US Hours
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex initiatives
• Attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Strong Excel and data management skills along with Technical Accounting knowledge/proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations or equivalent
• Prior consumer internet experience
• Passion for Quora product
