Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Accountant, Sr will work in one or more of the following sub process areas within with in Accounts Payable: Operations (Supplier Master; Accounting); Processing; Customer Support; Disbursement, Travel and Expense; P Card or T&E.
The role requires understanding of AP End to End domain knowledge with excellent communication skills to communicate with the Internal/external stakeholders.
Sr Accountant would be responsible for the following activities:
Hands on experience in payable liability account reconciliation process.
Hands on experience in Disbursement activities (Batch payment, WIRE, Inter-Company, Bank Reconciliation, and handling bank correspondence etc)
Complete end to end P2P process knowledge. Reporting and documentation.
Expertise in journal entries and P2P accounting flows in Oracle
Good knowledge in Oracle financials (R12)
Understanding of SOX and other various process controls
Partnering with GPOs and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to recommend and implement ideas that streamline the disbursement process while preserving quality deliverables.
Reviews adherence to published policy and procedure.
Audits internal controls and performs self-assessment.
Provide ad hoc reports to HQ, local controllership team and other finance functions
Evaluate accounting systems to determine efficiency and effectiveness.
Good understanding of IGAAP and US GAAP.
Minimum Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant or Master’s degree in Finance / Accounting with 8-10 years of experience (preferably in accounting environment)
Accounting experience in a multi-GAAP environment and shared service center
Exposure in working in ERP instance (preferably Oracle)
Excellent written and verbal fluency in English
Ability to learn/understand standards & processes quickly and adhere to them accurately
Has good fundamental organization & prioritization skills
Flexible approach with a strong team spirit
Effective interpersonal & communication skills and highly professional style
Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
Numerate with a good eye for detail
Proficient IT skills including Excel and Outlook
Experience of working in large Multi-National Company will be an added advantage for the candidate
