A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Retail Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for owning marketing initiatives that bring the Google & Android brand to life in third party online or offline retail/telco environments. Our team is a small group of innovation-minded marketers dedicated to growing Google’s business by driving adoption of Google’s platforms on mobile and in the living room. You’ll be focused on reinforcing this mission by owning retail partner programs end-to-end: strategy, agencies, creatives, budgets, internal/external stakeholders, and reporting/KPIs. Externally you will foster key strategic retail and telco partnerships
Internally you will work closely with the regional marketing and cross-functional teams across hardware sales, retail operations, legal and more. You will play a key role in all phases of a project-conceptualizing, building, executing, and reporting along with the partner
You should have excellent project management skills, analytical skills to deliver compelling insights, creativity to innovate in traditional and e-commerce retail, and agility to move fast and iterate.
As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you’re on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product’s journey. From playing a role in determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you’ll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Plan and execute campaigns for new product launches and events in sync with the marketing calendar.
Work closely with external agencies and Xfn teams to localise globally developed creative assets and comms or develop creative assets that are relevant and impactful.
Develop partner driven retail and telco strategy and support and guide them in executions for new devices.
Help create and coordinate with partner for new campaign concepts/pilots and test for scalability and potential impact throughout the year/ life cycle of the product
Use analytics to drive performance of our campaigns, measuring engagement and prioritise initiatives based on highest potential impact.
Own key retail/telco partner relationships from marketing side
Partner with the local and regional retail PMMs, retail operations, hardware sales, and other internal stakeholders. Develop KPIs that measure the effectiveness of our activities and share best practices across the region and with the global team.
Work with third party retail in managing quality standards for visibility on 3P platforms and creative execution. Develop learning and continuously optimize presences. Coordinate planning and execution of creatives.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:
Basic Requirements
4-8 Yrs of experience
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, dealing with internal stakeholders, creative and media agencies and retail partners
Experience in Retail and e-commerce, Partner Marketing , Campaign management, and BTL activities in electronics / telecom industry
Experience in working with Partners who execute campaigns in Retail
Experience in managing channel marketing, e-commerce marketing, in store merchandising, creative development, retail audits, POSM planning and execution
Experience in agency management
Experience in retail training and program management
Experience in Consumer Marketing , Consumer goods / Mobile / Electronics / Gadget marketing and channel enablement, Merchant on-boarding
Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
4-8 years of relevant experience in retail/e-commerce/hardware product marketing with leading Technology, Consumer Durables and/or Telecom companies
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment and track multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables. Excellent project management and execution skills. Experience at a leading retailer, telco, hardware, tech.
Demonstrated success in project management or operations involving fast moving timelines, complex logistics, many simultaneously moving parts, and coordinating across time zones. Ability to conduct market research to evaluate retail activities including mystery shopping and in-store qualitative and quantitative studies.
Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally within Google and across external partners
Entrepreneurial spirit, you are a fun charismatic people person that thrives on speaking to anyone, making connections between teams.
