What You’ll Do
You’ll work with the data services team to develop complex algorithms in SQL based on discussions with the client and the service delivery team.
In this role, you will perform data transformations, modeling and validation activities as well as configure applications to the client context. You will determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications and programming. You will review objectives with clients and evaluate current systems.
You will also develop scripts to validate, transform and load raw data using programming languages. You will conduct data assessment, perform data quality checks and transform data using SQL and ETL tools. You will design and drive the work plan for the optimization/automation and standardization of the processes incorporating best practices to achieve efficiency gains. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the domain/function (across pricing, promotions and assortment).
Given the pace of this role, you will develop cross-site relationships to enhance idea generation, manage stakeholders/partner expectations. You will collaborate with the team to support ongoing business processes by delivering high-quality end products on time and performing quality checks wherever required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; master’s degree is a plus
3+ years of professional work experience with a reputable analytics firm
Strong expertise in handling a large amount of data through SQL, T-SQL or P-SQL
Understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts with coding abilities in the field of data manipulation and ETL (Microsoft SSIS or Informatica, etc.)
Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources and automation of data processes; experience working in cloud technologies and architecture such as Azure and Amazon web services is a plus
Knowledge and experience in PySpark/Spark or Python for data processing is an advantage
Track record of strong problem-solving, requirement gathering and leading by example
Ability to thrive in a flexible and collaborative environment
Track record of completing projects successfully on time, within budget and as per scope
Ability to facilitate discussions and conduct trainings
Thoughtful and comfortable communicator (verbal and written) in English
