You will be based in our Gurugram office, and will be working with with the Transferee Tax team in Gurugram and London. You will be primarily reporting into the transferee tax director, based in Gurgaon.
McKinsey Tax group is led by the global head of Tax based in London. The Tax group has three functional areas: Corporate Tax, partner Tax and Transferee Tax. The Transferee Tax Group is responsible for the tax consequences relating to international mobility for more than 500 active transfers each year, and is led by the director of Transferee Tax, who is also based in London.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for ensuring the successful transition of firm members across different offices and between countries.
In this role, you will coordinate with local offices and payrolls, firm Mobility and external tax advisors to minimize disruption for firm members and make their transfer as smooth as possible. You will review social tax position based on receiving and sending country combination and the move type.
You will also be reviewing and reconciling the income tax/gross-up tax calculations on mobility allowances. You will manage tax risk and compliance across the firm functions by operating a thorough internal health check process for mobility related transactions. You will be monitoring the travel of international business travelers and ensuring payroll withholding and compliance in multiple countries.
You will be working with the tax advisor for the year-end compliance for each location such as finalizing the authorization list, providing compensation, resolving any compensation related query, timely filing of the tax return, tax reconciliations, etc. You will coordinate external tax advisor management, including service authorizations and ensuring high standard of advisor’s services.
You will be coordinating with different stakeholders, viz. local payrolls, external advisors, partner Accounting team, and Compensation group. You will be handling of databases across multiple platforms (e.g. Oracle, MS-Access, Excel, etc). You will also take on projects as assigned on a time to time basis.
University degree preferred
Minimum 2 years work experience, having exposure to personal tax affairs of internationally mobile executives and related payroll withholding issues
Strong individual taxation technical knowledge
Strong data handling skills for large data sets
Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
