Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare financial statements, reports and analyses to support decision-making by university management and stakeholders.
3. Coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and administrative staff.
4. Monitor budget performance and provide regular financial updates to relevant stakeholders.
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and university policies.
6. Oversee processing including tax withholding, deductions, and reporting.
7. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
8. Conduct periodic audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
9. Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed to fulfill reporting requirements and address any compliance issues.
10. Stay informed about developments in accounting standards, regulations and best practices relevant to the university’s financial operations.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Officer or university administration.
