Objectives of the position
Ø Drive the efforts to identify new digital products/functions in the international container freight industry from both incumbents and new entrants to the market
Ø Responsible for benchmarking digital capabilities of Maersk versus our main peers in the market, providing quarterly updates to management
Ø Conduct research into new ideas/trends in the broader digital space to inspire our own product/function development
Ø Provide support to the Competitor analysis and Strategy teams through qualified research and analysis
Key Responsibilities:
The job entails devoting approx. 80-90% of time on digital research and the remaining time on supporting with competitor analysis and strategic intelligence related projects.
Ø Digital research:
o Research: Continuously monitor the logistics technology space to identify new offerings in the market. Also includes working together with our customer insights teams to identify emerging customer needs and analyse where these are being covered.
o Benchmarking: Own our benchmarking efforts and update on a quarterly basis. Entails identifying relevant functions/products to benchmark together with relevant business owners and doing research across identified competitors.
o Preparing material for management: Prepare relevant material for management to inform the right discussions and decisions on where we should focus our product development efforts going forward
Personal characteristics
Sound research skills, a passion for technology and analysis and good interpersonal skills as well as being comfortable and motivated by the specialist role.
You are ambitious and very comfortable with and get motivated by taking on responsibilities and it is also natural for you to seek this on your own initiative.
You have excellent analytical and communication skills, allowing you to grasp and relay scattered information and functionality in a simple way to stakeholders across different levels of the organisation. A good command of written and verbal English is a must.
Strong sense of detail. Should be able to look out for details and research for facts through various sources.
Experience
Strong research & analysis background with at least 4-5 years of work experience on tech/digital and market research.
Experience in creating presentations for management.
Prior experience in logistics industry will be an advantage, though not a must.
Education requirement
Post-Graduation from a renowned university in the marketing & technology fields.
Special skills
Expert in PowerPoint and Power BI skill is a must.
