We are recruiting for AM and Manager at Business Tax services team specifically for our Mutual Fund tax Practice/ Regulated Investment Companies (RIC) tax. Working as a Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include:• As a Manager, you will draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide tax compliance and consulting services to Investment Management clients.• Work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to resolve complex business issues from strategy to execution.• Develop new skills outside of comfort zone and use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.• Able to identify key tax technical issues and raise appropriate questions before the work is sent for review to the senior manager or partner and manage multiple work assignments and deadlines.• Review of Regulated Investment Company (RIC) fiscal and excise tax provision workpapers, review financial statement disclosures, review of monthly or quarterly capital and income estimates, review quarterly and annual IRC asset compliance and gross income testing.• Review workpapers to support shareholder reporting.• Review of various Mutual Funds book to tax adjustments/reclasses like Wash sales, PFIC, Straddle, Sec 1256/988, REITs/Non-REITs, Dividend (QDI, DRD) etc.• Review of 1120-RIC tax returns and their supporting workpapers and associated schedules.• Participate in technical and other trainings to develop skills to enhance the employee and client experience as well as conduct technical trainings on various tax technical topics relevant to the Mutual Fund Tax space.• Proficient on Go System and other Tax Compliance tools.• Motivate, mentor, supervise and train new and experienced level Associates, Senior Associates and Assistant Managers.• Taking on lead client contact roles on engagements and be involved in firm related activities like recruiting.• Ensuring on a day-to-day basis that all deliverable schedules are met in a timely manner with accurate product.• Assist the management or leadership team with issues and questions that arise.Job RequirementsMandatory Skills• Minimum graduate from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance Experience• The candidate must have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a Big 4 Firm• Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and understanding of Federal taxes• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel)Preferred Skills• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Trainings: Accountable for collaborative efforts (Offshore & Onshore) with regards to trainings related to tax, soft skills, and overall development of professionals.• KPIs & Client Centricity: Developed KPIs (Accuracy & Timelines): across tax teams and set tolerance level for ongoing improved service delivery from India Office & instill accountability of tax professionals.• Talent Acquisition & Mgmt.: Responsible for recruitment of tax team members in collaboration with HR partner to bring in right talent and manage positions effectively.• Proven success in process and project management consistent record of success in developing effective solutions strategic issues relating to improve operational costs and efficiencies by transforming business processes, delight customers by delivering industry leading levels of service and quality and reduce risks by automation and standardization.
