JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) is committed to understanding how climate change may drive or influence the risks we identify and manage. This includes evaluating how our business and the activities of our clients and customers could be impacted through transition and/or physical risks driven by climate change. The Firm’s dedicated Climate Risk team, which is led by our Firmwide Risk Executive for Climate Risk, is responsible for establishing the firmwide framework and strategy for climate risk management, developing and advancing climate risk policy and standards, and building our approach to climate risk data. The Climate Risk team collaborates with stakeholders across the Firm to integrate climate considerations into line-of-business risk management frameworks.
We are looking for a candidate to help drive the Climate Risk team’s firmwide governance and regulatory agenda. The candidate will help develop and oversee the implementation of the firm’s climate risk management framework, as well as address regulatory requests across regions. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills to interact with key stakeholders within the firm. Collaboration is required across business and risk executives, across Risk Stripes including Credit, Market, Country, Liquidity, and Reputation Risk, and across Lines of Business including the Corporate & Investment Bank, and Asset & Wealth Management.
Any knowledge of climate risk or sustainability is a bonus, but not a requisite for this role. The individual needs to be a self-starter, able to articulate his / her thoughts clearly, and have excellent attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an exciting and rapidly evolving field within the financial services industry, with high focus and visibility within J.P. Morgan.
Key Responsibilities

  • Help develop and oversee the implementation of the firm’s climate risk management framework
  • Support with drafting firmwide climate risk policies, standards and procedures
  • Help interpret and address regulatory requirements for the firm and its Legal Entities
  • Support with regulatory engagements including surveys, information requests, meetings
  • Produce training materials
  • Create and coordinate presentation materials for working groups and senior management forums
  • Stay up to date on emerging regulatory climate risk/ESG trends and inform team of best practices and upcoming expectations
  • Perform research on a range of climate related topics that affect the firm’s activities
  • Contribute content to the firm’s public and regulatory disclosures

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong university degree (2:1 equivalent or above), with any education in a climate-related field a bonus
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently in producing deliverables with high standards and within tight deadlines
  • Ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and succinctly (both written and verbally)
  • Ability to draft high-impact presentations and documentation
