Our Global Tax team is a key partner of the business in growing shareholder value while complying with regulations in 100+ countries in which we operate. The role of risk management and governance in the tax function is growing exponentially in importance as tax regulations become more rigorous.
As a successful candidate you’ll be able to understand and assess tax risks across a wide variety of business areas, build relationships with diverse stakeholders, manage a complex network of individuals, influence change management across the organization and prioritize issues and escalate appropriately. This role will report to the VP of Global Tax Risk Management.
The role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Assisting with guiding local finance and tax teams through the tax risk management strategy for the company and its affiliates in foreign jurisdictions.
Assisting with the execution of risk reviews to assess the risk and controls environment in the finance and tax teams and testing the effectiveness of controls.
Preparing timely and comprehensive documentation of findings and recommendations.
Collaborating with members of the global organisation to collect the appropriate and relevant information for audits.
Directing the flow of information to external advisors and government auditors from other team members.
Managing the relationships with external advisors and government auditors to control the scope and direction of tax audits.
Conducting research and providing detailed analysis of global tax legislative changes impacting the company.
Providing tax support for ad-hoc tax planning projects
Experience and Qualification Requirements
Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative manner with other team members
Ability to be objective and provide independent input and analysis
Exudes a positive and winning attitude
Proactive self-starter, able to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
Experience in dealing with the audit defense process, dealing with foreign tax authorities, managing outside advisors; OR experience in Internal Audit or Risk Management
Would suit an individual looking to move from Internal Audit or other Risk Management function into Tax
A professional qualification in tax, accountancy, legal, risk management, compliance and other relevant areas.
2 years PQE of experience either in a large public accounting firm, law firm or multinational company
