JOB POSITION
Sr. Associate (Finance) – Assist with thorough tax compliance and accurate preparation of multi state sales and use tax returns
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
· Strong knowledge in General Ledger & reporting
· Good understanding of basic of accounts
· Assist with thorough tax compliance and accurate preparation of multi state sales and use tax returns.
· Timely initiate electronic filings and payments
· Submit wire payment requests for multiple jurisdictions and legal entities.
· Manage documentation and data tagging of sales and use tax returns, payments and workpapers.
· Assure tax bills are paid promptly and address tax notices as needed.
· Review transaction tax data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies with taxability, rates, and tax return errors.
· Assist with sales and use tax audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
· Provide support to other tax-related projects and tasks, maintaining a narrower focus on compliance and preparatory tasks rather than broad technical focus.
· Assist with month-end close reconciliations.
· Ability to liaise with Elevance Health Tax Department experts effectively.
· Proven ability to multitask daily tax-related responsibilities and projects, completing both in a timely manner.
· Strong analytical skills to manage and reconcile large volume of transactional data for internal and external tax reporting.
· Must be detailed oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
· Must manage time and priorities effectively to meet all tax compliance deadlines.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
QUALIFICATION
· B. Com/MBA in accounting, finance, or related field
· Qualified CMA
EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of 3-6 years of tax experience, focused on tax compliance and tax return preparation.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
· Chartered Accountant or Chartered Accountant eligible preferred
· Solid understanding of U.S. sales and use tax preferred but not required.
