This team sits within the Group Payments area of our Banking Services domain, where the mission is to transform the payments landscape by incorporating new capabilities and innovations to allow end-to-end transactions to occur with greater ease, efficiency and transparency.
As a Chapter Lead within Payments Messaging, you are responsible for building world class capability in the analyst chapter. You’ll be a promoter and ambassador of the new culture and ways of working. You will bring knowledge or deep expertise and develop this expertise and capability in your chapter members. Along with Product Owners and coaches, Chapter Leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy. Chapter Leads are not full-time managers, they work as a squad member for ~70% of their time and manage people (across squads) for ~30% of their time.
In addition to the line manager for the analysts within Payments Messaging you will also be technical analyst in one of the squads within Payments Messaging and you’ll drive missions that excite you, including leading requirements gathering, documentation and supporting the design and build of large-scale integrations between old and new applications. You’ll be overseeing critical workflow transformations to keep the bank running and deliver seamless payments experiences for our customers around the world.
What will your day look like
Working in close collaboration with Product Owner & other Analysts to maintain the backlog and external dependencies ensuring the delivery of work meets customer expectations
Partnering closely with application SMEs / stakeholders (designers / engineers / analysts) to gather, analyse and document system / interface requirements.
Creating well defined user stories in JIRA with clear acceptance criteria and conducting walk through sessions to hand over the stories to engineering and testing team.
People management responsibilities and mentor the analysts in the chapter
Assisting / supporting test teams by reviewing the test scenarios against the acceptance criteria as documented within the user stories
Attending stand-ups to progress your work and align with your team.
Measuring and monitoring progress towards release dates, managing risks and issues that may affect release scope and or delivery dates.
Lead a team of technical analysts to create and promote the new culture and support personal development
Develop Chapter Expertise and share knowledge to align development across your chapter members

Prior experience in leading a team of analysts and mentoring capability to grow the analyst chapter.
Strong experience in gathering & documenting technical requirements / interface specification within messaging applications like SWIFT’s Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH) or Bottomline’s GTX or similar messaging products.
In-depth knowledge of messaging standards such as SWIFT MT and ISO20022, with some experience on mapping and transformation.
Strong experience in creating user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
Experience in managing / maintaining product backlog in collaboration with the product owner.
Strong skills in building & managing working relationship with technology stakeholders (designers / engineers / analysts).
Agile delivery experience such as Scrum, Kanban and Feature Driven Development, using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
