Amazon FinOps Retail AP is looking for a talented, self-directed Data Scientist to join our team. Your primary focus will be to bring out deep insights from analyzing P2P Data. In this role, you will apply advanced analysis technique and statistical concepts to draw insights from massive datasets, create intuitive data visualizations helping the leadership team taking long term decisions. To be successful in this role, you must be able to turn ambiguous business questions into clearly defined problems, develop quantifiable metrics from imperfect data sources, and deliver results that meet high standards of data quality.
The Data Scientist will leverage data to drive operational efficiencies, provide key data-driven insights, enable new opportunities and innovate on behalf of business customers. The ideal candidate has experience with creating actionable insights and reporting mechanism to tell stories. They are experts in partnering and earning trust with operations/business leaders to drive these key business decisions.

Key job responsibilities
Apply data science techniques & statistical concepts to automatically identify trends, patterns, and frictions of customer interaction and retention
Work with data engineers and software development engineers to deploy models and experiments to production
Identify and recommend opportunities to automate systems, tools, and processes
You will own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. within SQL, Redshift, etc.
Partner with internal and external operations/business teams to consult, develop insights into data. Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
Excellent writing skills to create artifacts easily digestible by business and tech partners.

Basic Qualifications :
. Experience with SQL or ETL and Statistical Data Analysis.
. Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar quantitative discipline.
. 3-5 years in relevant experience as Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Engineer, or equivalent.
. Technical skills – Advanced proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, and statistical analysis tools and techniques.
. Experience with data visualization using QuickSight, Tableau, or similar tools
. Strong Analytical skills – has ability to start from ambiguous problem statements, identify and access relevant data, make appropriate assumptions, perform insightful analysis and draw conclusion relevant to the business problem.
. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems in simple plain stories.
. Ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data.
. Ability to work effectively & independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications :
. 5+ years of relevant work experience in a role requiring application of analytic skills in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analyst role.
. Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making.
