Project Cost and Capex Monitoring-
Effective Cost Monitoring of the brownfield projects to keep the project cost within approved budget.
1. Monthly Commitment & Expenditure report of the project (plant wise) to highlight the variances- By 12th of every month.
2. Discussions with the plant for reasons for variances.
3. Monthly Commitment & Expenditure report (Key project wise) – By 12th of every month.
Financial vetting of the Capital Proposals:
Ensuring proper financial vetting & release of all return & non return based capital proposals of 21 operating plants/mines within reasonable time.
1. Proper financial analysis of all return based capital proposals w.r.t. IRR, NPV & payback period.
2. Discussions with the plant/capex head regarding the financial justification & cash flow.
3. Release of capital proposals within 5 days of the receipt of the same at MCoE.
Annual Capital Budget:
1. Formulation & Compilation of Annual Capital Budget of Operating Plants within the time frame given by the management.
2. Working closely with all Greenfield Projects for finalization of cash flow / phasing of capital expenditure over the project period.
1. Compilation of the annual capital budget (plant wise) categorized into strategic, return based & non return based or inevitable capex.
2. Compilation of annual cash flows (quarter wise) for all plants including revisions of spillover/ongoing projects.
3. Discussions with the greenfield project site package wise for capital expenditure phasing.
MIS of Projects:
1. Ensuring timely submission of monthly MIS Reports like Capex Report, Project Cash Flow & Major Projects Report to the Management.
1. Monthly Capex report (plant wise) categorized into return based & non return based projects. – By 12th of every month.
2. Monthly Commitment & Expenditure report for brownfield & Greenfield projects.- By 12th of every month.
3.Plan versus Actual capex report to highlight the variances & compliance %
Capital Expenditure Management:
Ensuring 100% compliance of the Capital Expenditure Management System
(CEMS) manual.
1. Ensuring all the capital proposals follows the guidelines of CEMS manual w.r.t. preparation and authorization of capital proposals.
2. Ensuring the timely receipt of monthly capex reports from the plants.
Financial Closure of Major Projects:
Financial Closure of the major projects: Working closely with the plat finance team for achieving the financial closure of the major projects in a very tough & adverse economic & financial environment.
1.Conduct post project reviews / audits as per CEMS manual.
2.Creating a knowledge base for return based project benchmarking for P&B exercise.
Monitoring and controlling REC Purchase and It’s GST Compliance.
Ensure achievement of completion of RPO obligation and timely Taxation compliance for all operating plants.
1. Preparation of P&B and participation in P&B exercise meetings.
3.Monitor REC purchase, GST compliance,
4. Regular coordination with plants, exchange, broker and CFD and energy department for completion of RPO obligation and ensure full GST credit.
5. Facilitate in resolving day to day issues relating to fund settlement and tax invoices and accounting of REC.
6.Implementation and smooth functioning of REC Standard operating process.
7.Closely working with treasury department for fund management.
System development and improvement.
e Track , DMS, and Project module ERP
1. Identify areas of Etrack Capex module improvement and ensure improvement takes place with in due time.
2. Ensure DMS implementation for MCoE for document keeping in E-Form.
3. Performing core team member duties for ERP project during CSD, SIT, and Implementation of project module.
Other Miscellaneous work
Depaneds on time to time requirements.
For instances –
1.ISO certification audit coordination for all operation plants.
2.Contract / Proposal drafting / costing exercises for centralized proposals.
