The Assistant Manager participates in routine administrative tasks. The Assistant Manager maintains records for reviews and annual reports. The Assistant Manager provides support for the yearly closing of the accounts.

1 SCOPE OF POSITION The broad objective of this position is to provide leadership in performing general accounting activities for the European Aviation Industry. Specifically, this position is responsible for general accounting activities, including processing of financial transactions, account reconciliation & analysis, billing/monitoring and documentation (reports, schedules, etc.), and consolidation accounting for its Affiliates. Also, develops monthly membership and utilization reports, performs current trend analysis & forecasting.
2 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs accounting work from General Ledger to Financial
Statements including state of art document archiving. Implements established financial policies and plans. Plans, coordinates, and directs the activities of the general accounting staff. Devises and recommends new or modified accounting systems or procedures to provide complete and accurate financial and statistical reporting as well as appropriate internal accounting controls. Designs and maintains an up-to-date accounting procedures manual. Stands ready at all times for periodic audits by outside parties. Processes a broad range of financial transactions. Performs account reconciliation and analysis. Uses trend analysis & forecasting to estimate incurred expenses & reserves. Supervises the preparation of a variety of financial reports including the operating expense analysis. Offers interpretations, solutions, and strategies, based upon work performed, which contribute to the successful realization of the goals and objectives of company. Reviews reconcilement of accounts for correctness and adequacy of documentation. Organizes and directs posting of entries in general ledgers for multiple business units. Provides motivation and constructive counselling to staff and completes annual performance evaluations on a timely basis. Develops staff competencies and skills.
Manages billing/monitoring and documentation. Recognize and observe all company and departmental policies and procedures. Focus on achieving departmental and organizational objectives. 4 QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Accounting required. Three or more years relevant financial accounting experience required, including general ledger. One or more years supervisory experience in a professional accounting environment required.
